Understanding Your Daily Focus
This is an interesting week in the sky, and so I thought I’d
take some time to talk about the most prevalent transits, and how those
energies might be affecting us here on Earth. The best place to look for day-to-day
changes is the moon, since it is closest to us, and from our perspective, it is
the busiest. The moon changes signs every two days or so, with small periods in
between where it is void of course.
For this week’s Daily Focus, we’ll look at how the movements of the sky make the week auspicious for communication, creation, and change. This is not the time for deep introspection, but for pushing forward and letting go. Mercury moving into Aquarius, where the sun also sits, means it’s time for the community voice to be heard. Venus and Mars working together under Capricorn create power, strength, and balance, adding even more of Saturn’s energy to the mix. Now is not the time to hold onto old hurts, but rather a time to churn the soil and let new things come to fruition in the future.

“The moon in Cancer square Chiron in Aries: Refusing
to face our fears out of pride.”
Chiron, the wounded healer, offers us a unique look into our
own deep wounds. But Chiron in Aries is already a bit too proud, and when the moon
in Cancer moves to square Chiron in Aries, it can create a stubborn refusal to
look at those deep wounds. That’s okay right now, not every minute has to be
deep soul work. The moon moves quickly, and this transit is only present for a
few hours today. Keep it in mind as you go, and don’t feel obligated to dig too
deep, it would probably be too painful to do so right now.
Sunday, February 13
“The moon in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces: A day for
art, music, and creation.”
A trine is a peaceful and harmonious aspect that allows the
two planets to work in tandem. Here, the moon is at home in Cancer, reflecting
ever inward, looking at dreams, hopes, and fears, and is meeting with watery,
dreamy Neptune, also at home in Pisces. This powerful Water combination means
creativity will soar today. It’s a great time to write, paint, or sing. You
have access to your ideas through the moon in Cancer and the drive to elevate
it from Neptune in Pisces.
Monday, February 14
“The moon in Leo: Looking at ourselves with levity and
humor.”
The moon moves out of Cancer and into Leo, shifting from
introspection to an apathetic but humorous outlook on the self. While Cancer
wants to look inward, Leo wants to look outward. You may feel a bit of an
emotional release today, as things that were a big deal seem suddenly
insignificant.
Tuesday, February 15
“Mercury in Aquarius: Being a voice for the people.”
Mercury just moved into Aquarius this week, at the tail end
of Aquarius season, and it will be here for another two weeks or so. Both are associated
with the element of Air, so this is a great time to focus on getting big
messages across, speaking for large groups, or the community at large. We could
be entering into a period of negotiations, on a broader and more public scale.
Wednesday, February 16
“Venus and Mars conjunct in Capricorn: Two sides of a
whole in agreement.”
Venus, the divine feminine, and Mars, her masculine
counterpart, are close together under the sign of Capricorn. This means they
are working in tandem and amplifying each other’s energies. This is a great
time to air out old grievances, as Capricorn is steady and unreactive. This
will allow you to look at passion, desire, anger, and lust with a more detached
eye. It’s a good time to have hard conversations because emotions will be
muted, and less tumultuous than usual.

“The moon in Virgo: Time to plan for our futures.”
The moon has moved again, now into Virgo. This can manifest
as a desire to focus, plan, or make moves. Where Leo was just vibing, Virgo
wants to get serious. This is a good time to buckle down and get some work
done.
Friday, February 18
“The sun in Pisces: A new season.”
Aquarius season has ended, and we are now rolling into the final zodiac sign on the wheel of the year. This is a time to reflect on what we’ve learned through the last twelve solar transits and prepare ourselves for a new journey in sweet baby Aries.
