Contact With the Spirit World
Toward the end of each year, the veil thins, allowing the spirit world to intermingle with and contact the human world more easily than normal. During this period, psychic experiences and spirit interactions are much more likely to happen, and they are generally more powerful when they do occur.
Of course, contact from the spirit world can happen at any time of year. When it does, either during the thinning of the veil or at a point when the veil is harder to pierce, it can be a scary experience, especially if you aren’t sure what the spirits in question want. After all, while some contact may be subtle — coming through a feeling or unique dream — others can be more disruptive. Have you ever walked into a house or building and felt that the energy was “off”?
This is the story of a former client, a single mother of three boys. She’d just scraped together enough money to buy her first house. She loved the neighborhood she’d chosen, with its deeply rooted trees and family homes, which housed other children that her own kids could play with. Unfortunately, upon moving into the house, she sensed something wasn’t right, but she ignored her gut reaction because she was just relieved that they’d finally moved in. For months, the energy would change in different locations throughout the house. Breezes moved past her when nobody else was home, and she got the sense that she was constantly being watched.
After six months of ignoring this behavior, wondering if her loneliness was playing tricks on her, her youngest boy woke her one night and told her that he could hear someone talking to him in the house. Psychic Kerrigan’s Spirit Encounter
The most amazing confirmation in this world is when a spirit comes from the spirit realm and interrupts a private reading. I’ve had several of these types of calls since I got back to working my regular schedule for California Psychics.
Spirits can pop in from the spirit realm at any time, day or night. Remember, spirits don’t conceive of time the way living people do. Months for us might be only minutes for them. This particular reading was at night. The caller was very frustrated, searching for answers that would help her find clarity about her love life.
During our reading, the energy in my room shifted. I felt a distinctive and familiar paranormal cold. There was a physical pain in my chest and head, and messages started to come through. I’ve experienced sensations of paranormal cold a thousand times, but this one hit me so hard that it took my breath away. I felt chills from head to toe.
I said, “Who is here with me?” I didn’t want her to think I was crazy, and I didn’t want to waste her minutes by explaining that I was talking to a ghost.
The spirit whispered his name — it was a Class A disembodied voice. I asked my client if she recognized the name, and she became very excited. She said it was her deceased husband. I could hear her choking up with emotion. Both of us felt his presence strongly, even though this caller and I were many miles apart from each other. He was with both of us at the same time.
She and I asked him a series of questions, and we found out that he was okay with her dating because he couldn’t be there for her physically. He said that he wanted someone to be there for her to change her lightbulbs. This was a profound confirmation, as she disclosed to me that the last thing that her new love interest had done for her was change all the lightbulbs inside her home! I was in utter shock.
Her husband told us he would send her someone — though he said that when it was time for them to be together in the spirit realm, she’d have to forget about the earthbound lightbulb-changing boyfriend!

Psychic Uma’s Spirit Encounter
Here is one encounter I recently had. A friend of mine was telling me that she kept seeing something in her house, and she informed me that her room would smell like smoke even though nothing was lit or burning. It was as if someone was watching her, and her dog would whine like crazy when he was in her room, tilting his head in different directions. After this, I told her that I would come over to sage and cleanse her home.
Once I started the process of cleansing the home, I felt a cold sensation coming from her closet. I entered the closet, and as I did, I could feel that someone else was there with us. I told my friend that spirits often use portals and then lose their way back to the portal they came through, and that was likely why her closet was so cold.
By this point, she was so nervous that she decided to leave until I’d resolved the issue. At that point, the smell of smoke became very intense, and I noticed that the sage was no longer lit and the smoke had completely stopped. I told the spirit that it was no longer allowed to stay in her home. As I was talking to the spirit, the closet light began to flicker. Knowing that was a sign that the spirit wanted to communicate, I tried to pay close attention to the energy in the closet — but just then, I heard my friend scream from the entryway of her bedroom. I made my way out to my friend, and she said that something tried to close the door on her.
At this point, I could tell that the spirit was lost and couldn’t find its way. I knew that, for my friend and the spirit alike, it would be best if I continued cleansing the space. I did so, which allowed the spirit to move on and freed it from its entrapment in her home. She has let me know that she no longer feels like someone is watching her and that her dog no longer whines when he goes into her room.
Usually, spirits are just lost or stuck, and all they need is a little additional guidance so they can move on and find their path, even in the afterlife.
